Time & temperature

  • Fingers swell during the day and in heat.

  • It is best to test in the afternoon or evening , not early in the morning.

  • Avoid measuring when you are frozen or very hot .

Right finger

  • The same finger on different hands can be of different sizes (the dominant hand is often slightly larger).

  • Test exactly which finger the ring should be on.

How the ring should feel

  • It should slide on easily , but have a slight resistance over the knuckle .

  • It should fit securely without feeling tight.

  • You should be able to rotate the ring, but it should not spin around on its own.

The width of the ring matters

  • Wide rings (about 4–6 mm or more) feel tighter → you often need to go up half a size . Thin rings can fit well in the exact size.

Try several sizes

  • Feel free to try two sizes (e.g. 17 and 17.5) and feel them out after a while.
     Keep the ring on for a few minutes, clench your hand, stretch your fingers.

Body & everyday life

  • Salty foods, exercise, pregnancy, and hormones can affect finger size.
     Think about how your fingers usually feel in everyday life , not just at that moment.

Safety margin

  • If you are hesitating between two sizes: Choose the smaller one (it is easier to make a ring larger than smaller).

With us, engraving is included with the purchase of engagement & wedding rings, and with this guide, we will help you choose your engraving.


Choosing Engraving - What should it say? 

When choosing an engraving, the most important thing is, of course, to select a text that means something to you/both of you. To give you some inspiration, consider the examples below.

  • Names, nicknames, and initials
  • Dates of engagement, wedding, or other special occasions
  • A loving phrase or an inspiring quote
  • A significant place

In engagement & wedding rings, it is most common to engrave names or initials and/or dates. Often, people choose to engrave their partner's name and the date in their respective rings.

Engraving a date
How to write out a date can also be worth considering. Consecutive numbers can sometimes look like an item number, so we usually recommend writing it with slashes, hyphens, or similar. But of course, we will engrave it as you wish!

Just writing the year is also an option for those who want to minimize the number of characters or for those who may not have a complete date yet. However, many people prefer to include the specific date as it is something significant to remember and be reminded of!

Symbols
A symbol can also convey a feeling and a meaningful message in your engraving in a simple and concise way. Most common are a heart ︎ or an infinity symbol ∞.

From engagement ring to wedding ring
Many choose to complement their engagement ring with a new ring for the wedding. In the wedding ring, it is common to engrave the wedding date and the partner's name – often in harmony with the engraving already in the engagement ring. 

If you or your partner wish to keep the engagement ring as a wedding ring, we can certainly help engrave existing rings with, for example, the wedding date. 

When you buy wedding rings from us, complimentary engraving and polishing of your existing engagement rings are also included, even if you did not purchase the engagement rings from us. We would love to help give the old rings some extra love and shine to match the new ones!

Choice of font & characters 

  • Number of characters: Since the ring has limited space, the messages and texts need to be concise.
    A ring can be engraved with up to 20–30 characters including spaces. But exactly how many characters fit depends on the size of the ring and the type of characters.
    When you buy a ring from us, we have set a limit of a maximum of 20 characters as standard for the engraving choice. Should your desired engraving not work for the specific type of ring and ring size you have chosen, we will, of course, inform you and assist you further in choosing an engraving.

  • Allowed characters: All letters and numbers in the modern Latin alphabet can be used. This includes Å, Ä, and Ö. Both uppercase and lowercase can be chosen.
    Special characters: &”/,-
    Symbols: ︎ ∞

Font and design:

We offer two classic fonts and styles for engraving.

Italic - Provides a soft, personal, and elegant feel. 

Straight - Sleek, clear, and easy to read. Suitable for engraving names and dates, and gives a timeless feel. 

 

Engraving on existing rings
For supplementary engraving on existing (not new) rings, we cannot guarantee that the engraving will match the previous font. However, our goal is to achieve as similar a style as possible unless otherwise agreed.
Likewise, the amount that can be engraved on an existing ring is affected by any previous engraving, as well as factors such as ring size, material, type of ring, etc.

Material and technique
We manufacture rings in genuine 18k gold in both red and white gold, and all rings in our range of engagement & wedding rings can be engraved.
For special orders and engraving on old rings, we are happy to consult with you to ensure the feasibility of engraving.
If you order a new ring from us, it will be engraved using modern laser technology for the best quality and readability. In some situations, we offer and use hand engraving if the material, type of ring, or other factors require it.

Grynge

An engagement ring beyond the ordinary – where craftsmanship takes center stage. In a fishtail setting, each diamond is held by claws that elegantly split and form a V-shape, like a fishtail. This gives the ring a beautifully vibrant silhouette with reflections dancing along the rail. Unlike the more classic castle setting as an engagement ring, fishtail requires a completely different level of precision and fingertip sensitivity. Every detail must be shaped by hand, which means that the result is not just a ring, but a masterpiece of craftsmanship and balance between strength and beauty.

The ring is adorned with 15 brilliant-cut natural diamonds of 0.03 ct each, a sparkling row of light running along the band and will forever feel exclusive and timelessly elegant.

Grynge is available in both red gold and white gold and is a ring that is just as suitable for everyday use as for parties – alone or in combination with other jewelry.

Normal delivery time within Sweden is 2–4 working days for all shipping options, provided the item is in stock. Our goal is to pack your order within 1-2 working days of receiving it. As our shop and workshop are located on Gotland, delivery times may be affected by transport to and from the island.

Custom Orders
Estimated delivery for custom orders, such as engagement and wedding rings, is normally about 4-8 weeks, depending on the type of ring.
Plain rings usually take about 4 weeks, while models with set gemstones can take up to 8 weeks, depending on material choice and design.

Delivery during peak season:
During peak season (June, July, August), delivery may take slightly longer. This applies particularly to our custom orders.
