Choosing Engraving
Many people want engraving in their rings to eternalize memories and the people we hold dear. Wearing an engraved ring often enhances the meaningful and personal feeling that the ring carries, making it an important part of the decision-making process for many when buying engagement and wedding rings.
What should it say?
When choosing an engraving, the most important thing is to select a text that means something to you, and to give you some inspiration, please consider the examples below.
- Names, nicknames, and initials
- Dates of engagement, wedding, or another special moment
- A loving phrase or inspiring quote
- A meaningful place
In engagement and wedding rings, it is most common to engrave names or initials and/or dates. Often, people choose to engrave their partner's name and the date in their respective rings.

Engraving Dates
How a date is written is also worth considering. Consecutive numbers can sometimes look like an item number, so we usually recommend writing it with slashes, hyphens, or similar. However, we will of course engrave it as you wish!

Just writing the year is also an option for those who want to minimize the number of characters or for those who may not have a complete date decided yet. However, many prefer to include a specific date as it is something meaningful to remember and be reminded of!
Symbols
A symbol can also convey a feeling and a meaningful message in your engraving in a simple and concise way. The most common are a heart ︎ or an infinity symbol ∞.
From Engagement Ring to Wedding Ring
Many choose to complement their engagement ring with a new ring for the wedding. In the wedding ring, it is common to engrave the wedding date and the partner's name – often in harmony with the engraving already in the engagement ring.
If you or your partner wish to keep the engagement ring as a wedding ring, we can certainly help engrave existing rings with, for example, the wedding date.
When you purchase wedding rings from us, free engraving and polishing of your existing engagement rings are included, even if you did not buy the engagement rings from us. We would love to help give the old rings some extra love and shine to match the new ones!

Font & character selection
Characters and Length
- Number of characters: Since the ring has limited space, messages and texts need to be concise.
A ring can be engraved with up to 20–30 characters including spaces. However, the exact number of characters that fit depends on the size of the ring and the type of characters.
When you buy a ring from us, we have set a limit of a maximum of 20 characters as standard for engraving. If your desired engraving does not work for the type of ring and ring size you have chosen, we will, of course, inform you and assist you further in choosing an engraving. - Allowed characters: All letters and numbers in the modern Latin alphabet can be used. This includes Å, Ä, and Ö. Both uppercase and lowercase can be chosen.

Fonts and Design:
We offer two classic fonts and styles for engraving.
Italic - Gives a soft, personal, and elegant feel.
Straight - Sleek, clear, and easy to read. Well-suited for engraving names and dates, and provides a timeless feel.
Engraving on existing rings
For additional engraving on existing (not new) rings, we cannot guarantee that the engraving will match the previous font. However, our goal is to make the style as similar as possible unless otherwise agreed upon.
Similarly, how much can be engraved on an existing ring depends on any previous engraving, as well as factors such as ring size, material, type of ring, etc.
Material and technique
We manufacture rings in genuine 18k gold in both red and white gold, and all rings in our range of engagement and wedding rings can be engraved.
For special orders and engraving on old rings, we are happy to consult with you to ensure the possibilities for engraving.
If you order a new ring from us, it is engraved using modern laser technology for the best quality and readability. In some situations, we offer and use hand engraving if the material, type of ring, or other factors require it.
